How have the producers…. Use lighting?
The lighting changes according to the main character, Mia's mood and feelings. The lighting in the beginning of the trailer was quite dull with a grey undertone. This could indicate that Mia's life could be very mundane, very boring. It could also mean that her everyday life is surrounded by bad stuff. The lighting then changes when a man comes into the picture, the lighting becomes brighter, warmer with hints of a yellow undertone. This could connote happiness meaning that the man makes Mia's life better and makes her enjoy her life even more. The lighting only becomes warm when the man is in the picture connoting that maybe Mia relies on him for happiness. The lighting then darkens near the end of the trailer, indicating that something has happened to Mia or that something bad has happened which causes Mia to lose her sense of happiness. |
How have the producers…Use Mise-En-Scene?
Costume: For the costume, the character Mia wears a lot of stereotypical 'chavy' clothing such as tracksuits, hoop earrings and thick makeup; clothes that anyone could buy. This could connote that Mia comes from a family that can't afford expensive brands and that she perhaps lives in a run down area as that is where 'chavs' are stereotypically thought to live in. Unlike Mia, her mum wears very promiscuous clothing such as short skirts and shorts, revealing/low cut tops etc. This could indicate that Mia's mum is very promiscuous and perhaps not a very suitable mum for Mia. Actors:The main character Mia is played by Katie Jarvis, a teenage girl probably round 15-16. This could be because the story is about a teenage girl coming to terms of who she is, a phase that most teenage girls go through. By having an actor similar to the teenage girls age means that the audience will be able to relate to that character |

Costumes: The costumes that were worn are stereotypical clothing a person would expect from a young male living in London, so masks, dark hoodies etc. This made the actors look intimidating and that they are up to no good. Actors: The actors in the gang were male, in their 20s; people you would typically think of that are in a gang. Location: The location was set in London, this was stated in the super imposed text. Also because the area was rundown, the location could be set in parts of Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham as well. |
