Why did you choose these people to interview? I chose to interview these people to interview because they have first hand experience with cyber bullying and therefor have a personal side of the topic or they are experts in the field. Meaning that any facts given form them are likely to be true and factually correct because they know what they are talking about and spend a lot of time researching about the topic. Do you think their contribution was important? I think some people I have interviewed, like the girl who got bullied, was important. This is because it gives out the news broadcast a personal touch the story as it is from someones background. And it can be easier for the target audience to relate to the individual because she is their age and probably goes through the same experiences as them. However, I feel that the parents contribution is probably not as important, mainly because their views do not specifically target the audience, they may just target the parents. Also, the target audience may find it hard to relate to the parents and understand them because they may just see them as adults telling them want to do. Where they the right people to interview? I feel that they were the right people to interview because they had first hand experience of cyber bullying so they know how it looks like , how it effects people and how it can be stopped. Also, by interviewing a group that is targeted to cyber bullying means that they are professionals and they know what they are doing and because they face a lot of cases each year it means that they know what they are talking about and they know the facts and the figures behind cyber bullying because they would've done some research on their own. Relevance of your story to its target audience and broadcaster I feel that my story is quite relevant to my target audience mainly because out is a problem that is currently happening a lot in this generation and it is teenagers and young children that it is being targeted to. They are the ones that are more vulnerable because they are the ones most likely to set up multiple social media accounts and use the internet frequently. It is also relevant to the broadcaster meanly because not a lot of news broadcasters go on this topic and discuss about it. Also, because newshound is aimed at young kids means that the news story is relevant to them which the broadcaster wants because they want all stories relevant to the target audience.
Accuracy of your story
How do can you vouch that your story is 100% accurate? I feel that my news story is 100% accurate because I have gone on multiple websites, such as BBC News, The independent (websites that have a reputation to put out factually correct information online) and made sure to recheck the information. I have also approached experts, such as anti bullying clubs that talk about cyber bullying and have asked questions and they have given information that I then later checked online as well. Every information I have researched and are going to use i have made sure that I checked on it twice before deciding to use. I felt that if the facts given didn't seem correct then I wouldn't use them. I made sure to check everything thoroughly by reading text books, going on websites, watching documentaries and interviewing experts.
Validity
Are the stories findings valid and factually sound? I feel that my stories findings are factually sound mainly because I have backed it up with a lot of facts that the audience can easily understand.
Accessibility
How will you write your story so that your target audience will understand it and at the same time be challenged by it? I will write my story using simple words and sentence structures, not using ambitious vocabulary or complex sentences This is so that my audience are able to understand what I am saying and how to interpret it. I feel that they will be challenged by it because I am using facts and figures produced by experts, so therefore they have the challenge of interpreting the facts and figures.
Quality
Do you think your sources are good quality? How do you know this? I feel that my sources are good quality, mainly because most of my sources are from professionals or people who know what they are talking about, therefore the facts from them are very likely to be 100% accurate. I also feel that my interview sources are good quality, mainly because it is from people, at the target audiences age. that have experienced cyber bullying so they know what they are talking about.
Cost effectiveness
If the story was written for a newspaper would it help sell papers? If so how? I feel that in some ways the story would help sell papers mainly because it is a problem that many people are facing today and is currently relevant. The story may also have some elements of moral panic meaning that it would confirm some parents fears and parents would most likely share the news story to other parents. However, in other ways the story may not help sell the papers mainly because it is targeted at teenagers and children, and they are not likely to buy a news paper and read it. They are more likely to go on online and read it there because they have grown up with the internet and aren't used to reading news papers
