P9: Explain analysed feedback for project feasibility
Self Evaluation Watching the pitch back I think I have improved a lot since my last pitch as I seemed more confident and I didn't stutter or trip over my words as much. I looked confident and professional when I was presenting, this is mainly because I was more relaxed and confident with my idea. Throughout the pitch I made eye contact with the board of executives and I didn't sway my body as much.
During the pitch I spoke with a clear loud voice and I paced myself well enough that I wasn't rushing out to get all of my ideas. Because I planned my pitch well enough, I explained all of my ideas and I didn't miss out any key points. One thing I still need to work on though is how I handled my notes, I noticed during the pitch I still fumbled with my notes making it seem like I was unprepared and flustered and it came across as I wasn't as professional. I think next time I need to layout my notes in an orderly and clear manner just so I don't fumble around with my notes.
Feedback given: From my board of producers a lot of feedback was given back after I finished my pitch. They especially liked how uniformed my slides were as it gave off a professional feel and helped them gives an idea of my brand identity. They commented that I had a good stage presence and delivery, as it made me seem like I knew what I was talking about and that it was very professional. They also liked how I really thought about my target audience and how to appeal to them and what would potentially effect them. Because I really thought about my target audience it made it seem like I really did my research and knew how to market my app to them. They also liked the fact that I considered the age restriction aspect in my app.
They did however question my Face Timing aspect, as they argued it may be over budget and not a lot of celebrities would agree to it. They gave some ideas on how the app could still have the interactive element without the Face Timing aspect, like maybe have the celebrity do a live whilst users type in and ask some questions.
The positives of the proposal and how can you develop it further? -The proposal had a very uniformed and professional layout. This gave a clear idea on the kind of brand identity the app will have, to develop it further maybe go over and check any spelling or grammar mistakes in the proposal so it looks even more professional -The slides had some good detail, however add in some more detail so it can communicate the ideas even more
Possible problems: -The FaceTime aspect, it may too expensive to pay for and celebrities may not agree to it due to privacy issues -How is the app is going to make profit if it doesn't come from the premium membership -A clear marketing campaign and some possible # names that would be used -The costs of advertising the app, will it be too expensive?
App developers feedback: One of the feedback that was given was mainly about the overall costing of the app. They wanted information on how much would the app cost on making and staffing costing as well.
Adapted proposal: A question was asked on what kind of celebrities would I work with and why them, they most likely asked this questions as I didn't really get into detail or gave away a lot of information in the celebrity aspect in my app. Because of this I added in a slide purely on the celebrities that I would work with and explained why I choose them. I also corrected any spelling or grammar mistakes that was in the proposal so it looked more professional.
Is my app feasible? From feedback and research, I have guessed that the overall cost of the app would be around £40,000-£43,000 as this is a realistic and feasible amount in the app industry. The costs would vary a bit depending on the type of people I hire and invest in as if a staffing member has more experience and is well known in the industry it will cost more to get them to work for me. Although clothing and music apps are well known and popular, combining both together may be more technically difficult to make and code, therefore it would be better to hire someone who has more experience with coding and making apps.
I would also need to be aware of copyright and any license fees I would need to pay as this would add to the cost of my app.I would need to make sure that I don't get into any legal issues so therefor I would need to gain permission to use music videos and songs, so I would need to look into PPL and PRS.
Another additional cost would be the celebrity aspect and the interactive part. If I use a popular and A-list celebrity like Beyonce this would increase the pricing as they would charge higher for them to be involved. Because the app is UK based I would first start off with UK based artists like Little Mix, as it would lower the fee a bit. I would also need to be aware that celebrities will charge hirer for them to be interactive with the users, so I need to make sure I established a fare and reasonable price for the things they will do with the app.
