This is my first offline edit, its a very basic edit as there is no added sound effects, backing sound and any visual effects. When editing this I referenced my storyboard a lot, this is because the storyboard gave me an idea on the structure of the full piece and how the piece should really look like. The storyboard also gave me an idea on what shots I needed and how long those should be.

Add in some sound elements to the VT
This needs to be changed as there are no sound elements at all in the VT, making the VT quite boring and doesn't really allow the audience to be engaged and immersed into watching it. Looking at my storyboard of my VT it does say that there will be sound effects such as giggling and footsteps as well as having some background music. By adding in some sound effects it conforms to the conventions of TV soaps as all TV soaps have some sound effects to make the scene look as realistic as possible. Because of my storyboard I will add in the sound effects I have planned out and background music. |
Adjust transitions in the VT sequence as some transitions are distracting to watch
For the first two shots in the VT there is a jump cut to transition the shots. From the feedback given, I will need to get rid of that as it is distracting. When planning the transitions I didn't realise that certain transitions would become distracting to the viewer and make it look unprofessional. To change this I will just get rid of the transition and just leave it as a simple cut. |

Changes I have made
>Got rid of the jump cuts as they were distracting >Added in an effect in the VT, to make it look like it is from Emma's perspective >Got rid of the stabiliser Changes still to be made >Adding in sound in the VT, to make it more realistic >Sort out the sound in the studio shoot, as in some parts you can't hear the actors very well or the sound peaks too high when they speak |
