00:00- You can see me clicking on the app icon and the app loading straight to the home screen. The video shows that the app loads quickly and that the icons image is clear meaning that it has been optimised well. Like I said in D1, I haven't included the video I wanted in my plan due to timing issues 0:03- Here you can see me clicking on the About Cambridge page, where the user can scroll down and read the information about Cambridge . It also shows that the buttons on the menus works as the page does load quite quickly. The text and the background image is also clear meaning that I have optimised the images well 0:08: It is then clicked on the map page, which is my first form of interactivity. The user can move the map and and zoom in and out, like in the video. The map has also loaded quite clearly, meaning that there are no issues with this page. 0:14- On this page it is of the best bits of Cambridge. The image in this page is clear and has been optimised for the platform because it is clear to see. This page also has my second form of interactivity as it has a button that links to the restaurants website, as the video it shows that the website does load however it does take some time but this could be because of the internet connection 0:23- This page shows my quiz, which is my final form of interactivity on the app. As you can see on the video the quiz does works and it is clear to use. 0:29- In the last part of the video you can see the final page which is the events. The users can scroll up and down the text about the latests current event.
Test Plan: In order for me to test my app, I will need to create a survey and a focus group, so know what the user like and don't like about and how I can improve it. Functionality (e.g. working internal/external navigation, content loads/works, sound – volume appropriate, no background noise) usability (e.g. clear navigation) For functionality I have asked the questions: Does it work? Does it make any weird sounds when it loads? By asking these questions on the questionnaire means it allows me to know if the app does work and there is no bigs or errors. User interaction: For user interaction, I have asked the questions on the questionnaire which is 'Is it easy to navigate?' and 'can you interact with it?' also on my focus group I am thinking of asking my group if all of my user interaction (so the quiz, the links to the websites) work. By doing so means that I can see whether or not if my app can be used by everyone which is important because the app needs to be simple,. Also by asking these questions I can see whether or not I have followed the client brief as it does say that it would need at least 2 forms of interactivity Load times of pages/screens: For this I have asked the question, does the app load too slowly? Completeness: I have asked the question ' Is the app complete to your level on standards?' By asking this I can find out if my users think the app is complete, this is important because an unfinished app won't look good and it isn't what the client wants Accuracy (e.g. proofread, spell-checked, text readable with background colour, clarity) accessibility (e.g. alt tags, easy to use, clear text size): For this point I have asked the questions 'Are there any grammar, spelling mistakes? And if so, is there a lot?' 'Is the text easy to read?' This is important as it will highlight whether or not I am misleading and distributing false information and whether or not my app looks professional. Performance – optimised for platform(s): For this I have asked the 'Is the app easy to use on all platforms (iPhone, iPad, computer etc.) ' By doing this means I will know whether or not my app is usable for all platforms
I have created a survey monkey (questionnaire), just so that my target audience can fill it in after they have had a go on my app. All questions on my app link to the bullet points in LO4
These are the results I have got from my questionnaire
I have also had a focus group review my app and comment on it
I have asked my focus group the same set of questions from my survey and asked them to elaborate.
Overall View: In general I think that my overall app is good but could be better. Like it said in the focus group and on the questionnaire there are some spelling and grammar mistakes I would need to fix. I also don't have all of my planned interactive elements such as my video, which I may need to add in just so I finished my plan. I think that I would need to go back and add and fix in the finishing ouches, just so my app is to a better and higher standards. Even though it is commented that it looks professional I would still need to re adjust certain aspects such as the placements of the text and the six of them because then I think it would look more professional.
What you will change in the app as a result of the feedback? From the feedback I have received I will make sure to change the icons so that they are relevant to the page and therefor making it easier to navigate through the app. I will also make sure to sort out the quiz as it is not working that well, I will need to go back and check the coding. I will also need to fix the spelling and grammar mistakes made in the app, I will also need to test whether or not my app does work on an iPad and iPhone. I will also need to upload my promotional video onto the app as it was in my plan and wasn't included in the app.
How you made these changes I made these changes by going back to my app and checking that all of my coding is correct and then trying to figure out why my quiz doesn't work. I have found out that one of my buttons isn't linked and I have coded it wrong as well, I have linked in my button and corrected the coding. I have also corrected the grammar and spelling mistakes and then proof read the entire app to make sure there are not any more. I have tested the app on my iPhone, I have done this by linking my phone to the simulator so the app is on my phone.
